REPÈRES (Landmarks) is an ongoing videopoetry work-in-progress, a project inspired by AR (Augmented reality) and by land art. It’s a suite of black and white landscapes from Montreal, Vancouver, Toronto, New York, Amsterdam, Paris, London, Berlin and Hamburg, each presenting a poetic suggestion from Karoline Georges, in French, integrated into the urban environment. Here, both real footage and pure virtuality combine to create a new poetry land.
REPÈRES as been presented in two solo shows at The Bande Video in Quebec (2015) and at Expression, Centre d’exposition in St-Hyacinthe (2016). It was also presented at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris and at the Haus of Kulturen der Welt in Berlin and in many poetry festivals, including Vancouver Visible Verse, Winnipeg Envoi Poetry, le Printemps des Poètes de Québec and IndieCork Film in Ireland Festival in Ireland where it was an Official Selection of the 4th Ó Bhéal Poetry-Film Competition in 2016.
