This special event, in partnership with V&A Digital Futures and EVA (Electronic Visualisation and the Arts) Conference, will include demonstrations, talks by Lumen Prize artists, installations and the announcement of the 2017 Lumen Prize Longlist.
Bringing together artists, researchers, designers and technologists the events on July 11 present an open platform to discuss the opportunities and possibilities surrounding art and technology. At this year’s EVA conference 7 Lumen Prize artists have been invited to speak, they’ll also be an exhibition featuring the work of Carla Gannis, Andy Lomas, Laura Dekker, Katerina Athanasopoulou and Rachel Ara at Hackney House, London, in collaboration with the V&A’s Digital Futures event.
From 6pm join us at Hackney House for the reveal of the 2017 Lumen Prize Longlist, featuring a lightening talk by Bruce Wands, Jury Panel member and author of Art in the Digital Age, and one more special guest. Drinks and networking to follow.
The recipient of the £500 Peter Cannings Memorial Prize for the best final year Digital and Interactive Art Student at London College of Communication will also be announced. This year Carla Rapoport, Founder & Director of The Lumen Prize, joined the panel alongside Colin Corbett, head of Graphic Design at the V & A, to judge this years award.
Lumen Prize artists Carla Gannis, boredomresearch, Jon McCormack, Rachel Ara, Harvey Goldman, Esther Rolinson and Sean Clark will be speaking at EVA London. You can find more about the programme and purchase tickets for the EVA conference here.
