The simple starting point for this show was to see what the Cello Factory would look like with the lights out. An open call was made to the members asking for works which either illuminated themselves or could be illuminated by other works. 18 members have risen to this challenge in what will be an experimental show for the group involving several collaborations and explorations of new techniques. The Cello Factory will be brought alive with light-boxes, projections, music and performance over three days in January – the darkest part of the year.
Lumen will showcase recent shortlisted film makers and a special commission by Student Award Winner Ziwei Wu. And there will be contributions from the Computer Arts Society which is celebrating its 50th year.
Everyone is welcome to the Private view night with Performance on Thursday 17th Jan. And also to the workshops, talks and music on the Friday 18th.
