Still Remember

Artwork description:

Still Remember' is a relational art piece that utilizes smart contracts to create a unique, bidirectional connection of time and memory between the artist, the artwork, and the owner. To mint the piece, participants are asked to share their cherished memories in the form of emojis, which symbolically represent their personal experiences and emotions. In exchange for this intimate sharing, they receive a fragment of the artist's memory captured in a digital photograph. The use of emojis enables the creation of a language-independent relationship. As time passes, the image gradually degrades, losing clarity and detail. This degradation process reflects the natural fading of memories over time and serves as a metaphor for the ephemerality of human experience.

However, owners can actively engage with the artwork by transferring it to another wallet, temporarily restoring the image to its original state. If left untransferred for three years, the image becomes corrupted and irreparable. This interaction between the owner and the artwork represents the effort and care required to preserve and revitalize our memories. Engaging with this piece can trigger the recollection of one's own happy memories, exploring the potential for smart contract-based art to provide solace to people in the future world. Through this dynamic and participatory process, 'Still Remember' invites us to reflect on the nature of memory, the role of art in preserving human experiences, and the potential for technology to create new forms of emotional connection and shared understanding.
