ROW
TUNDRA
Artwork Description:
ROW Audiovisual installation 'ROW' is an audiovisual installation that explores relationships between sound, volumetric image and human synesthetic perception. The installation is composed of ten dynamic led displays aligned in a row, creating a layered three-dimensional image that visually displays variations of sound. The sound has been sourced from synthesizer oscillators, offering a clear 'what you see is what you hear' experience through oscilloscope visualization. Holographic image depth enhances the spatial attributes of the installation, forming a constantly morphing sound and light sculpture. The title 'ROW' references the linear arrangement and represents the structuring of data, from mathematical sequences to the twelve musical notes. The installation visualizes the continuous conversion of data into visual symbols and musical messages forming complex audiovisual language. Bits of information become symbols that can be combined in words, words add up to sentences, and sentences translate our ideas, thoughts and feelings. “ROW” provides a different take on interpreting data and audiovisual signals, devoid of preset associations and welcoming individual narrative insights.
