VALIDERINGSØPPELET

Adam Peacock

VALIDERINGSØPPELET is an expansive drawing project exploring the complex interrelations between new media, artificial intelligence, genetics, and human culture. Developed from a significant research initiative in collaboration with PRAKSIS Oslo, The Vigeland Museum, and Karmaklubb*, the project was first presented at RAM Gallery in Oslo.

The title, VALIDERINGSØPPELET—translated from Norwegian as "The Validation Garbage"—critically examines the processes by which identities are validated or invalidated within digital and technological ecosystems. The drawing functions as an anatomical inquiry into a sculptural biological form, employing architectural drawing techniques to reveal the hidden and intangible forces that shape contemporary identity construction. By utilising experimental technological methodologies, the work interrogates the impact of new media and ontological systems on the formation of post-digital identities. As an ongoing research framework, VALIDERINGSØPPELET is integral to urgent global discussions on identity, technology, and mental health.

The project is particularly committed to amplifying the voices of marginalised groups, including LGBTQIA+ and queer communities, within the context of technological development. By foregrounding these perspectives, the project challenges the prevailing trajectories of new media technologies, software, hardware, and policy development, advocating for more inclusive and representative paradigms.Through these explorations, VALIDERINGSØPPELET seeks to expand our understanding of the intersections between identity, technology, and ontology, advocating for a future where technological innovation is informed by inclusivity, equity, and a nuanced appreciation of the diverse ways in which identities are shaped and expressed in the digital era.
